The answer

If the yellowish discharge (ṣufra) is connected to menstruation (hayd) or postnatal bleeding (nifās), it shares the same ruling as them. However, after the cessation of menstruation, it is not considered menstruation unless it falls within the usual duration of the period. If the yellowish discharge is seen connected to menstrual blood, it is considered menstruation. After the cessation of menstruation, it is not considered menstruation except within the usual duration of the period. If the yellowish discharge is seen connected to postnatal bleeding within the forty days, it is considered postnatal bleeding. However, regarding the appearance of purity (ṭuhr) followed by yellowish discharge within the forty days, there is a difference of opinion among scholars.
