What is the meaning of the Hadith: "A believer is not stung from the same hole twice," with examples of that?

The meaning of the Hadith: "A believer is not stung from the same hole twice" is a warning against repeating mistakes and negligence, and an encouragement to be vigilant and shrewd, so that a believer does not return to the error from which he was afflicted. The reason for its narration is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said it when he apprehended Abu 'Azzah Al-Qurashi after he had broken his covenant and fought the Muslims on the Day of Uhud, even though the Prophet had pardoned him at Badr.
