Is it permissible to pay unlawful money to the state as taxes to get rid of it, and does the ruling differ between a Muslim state and a non-Muslim state?

Unlawful wealth that must be disposed of by spending it on public utilities cannot be used by its owner for his own benefit. This includes using it to pay taxes he is obligated to pay, even if these taxes are unjust or levied in a non-Muslim country, because by doing so, he would be taking unlawful money for himself.
