Was there a sign or miracle for every prophet to present to his people? If so, then how is the Almighty’s saying to be understood: "They said, 'O Hud, you have not brought us a clear sign, and we are not abandoning our gods upon your word'"? And if not, then how do people come to believe in a messenger who does not come with a sign or a miracle?

God supported all prophets with miracles, some of which are mentioned in the Qur’an or Sunnah, and some of which are not. Allah says: "We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences."

Hud's greatest miracle was the strength of his trust and reliance on Allah, which enabled him to openly challenge his people with this astonishing miracle, as he said: "Indeed, I have relied upon Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature but that He holds its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path."

This is one of the greatest signs: that one man addresses a great nation with such discourse, without anxiety, fear, or weakness, but rather confident and certain of what he has said.
