Is "Qunut" in the Friday prayer an innovation?

Singling out Friday prayer for Qunut is an innovation (bid'ah). As for Qunut in it during calamities (nawazil), it is legislated just like other obligatory prayers. There is no Qunut in any of the prayers except for Fajr, unless a calamity befalls, in which case the Imam may perform Qunut in all prayers. Some scholars are of the view that Qunut is not sunnah in Friday prayer even during calamities; rather, it is sufficient to make supplication (du'a) during the sermon.
