What is the ruling on using tambourines (dufuf) and drums (tubul) in an Islamic band for chanting and purposeful theater to improve artistic performance, knowing that the band previously refrained from using them?

It is forbidden for men to use the drum (tabl) and the tambourine (duff). The drum falls under the category of "kubah" which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade. The tambourine falls under "ma'azif" (musical instruments) which were mentioned as forbidden in the Hadith. Therefore, it is not permissible to use these forbidden instruments.
