Some scholars have even considered the one who abandons it out of laziness to be a disbeliever. He should also clarify to him that laziness in prayer is a characteristic of hypocrites. It is not permissible for him to reuse empty cans that are used for unlawful purposes, such as alcohol, as this constitutes cooperation in prohibited sin. The curse of alcohol includes those who assist in its production or consumption, not just its drinker. Therefore, he must abandon that work unless he can avoid the cans used for unlawful purposes; otherwise, a portion of his salary equivalent to that will be unlawful. His wealth is not entirely unlawful, so it is permissible to eat from his food. If abandoning the friend serves a benefit, such as his commitment to prayer and avoidance of unlawful acts, then he should be abandoned. Otherwise, he should not be abandoned so that he does not increase in his transgression and distance himself further from his Lord.
