How can one reconcile the condemnation of sins and their negative impact on a person with human weakness and inclination towards sins, and Allah's love for those who repent, and is the hadith "If you did not sin, Allah would bring a people who would sin" authentic?
A servant must distance himself from sins. If he weakens and is overcome by his devil and his commanding self [nafs al-ammara] that inclines to evil, then he must hasten to repent and strive against his self for uprightness, and not despair of Allah's mercy. He must work diligently to distance himself from environments of sin and distract his heart from becoming attached to them. Among the means to achieve this are: moving away from corrupt environments to a righteous one, marriage for those who fear falling into immorality, and seeking help through fasting while staying away from women and temptations.
