al-Fitr differs from Zakat on wealth. Zakat al-Fitr is obligatory upon every Muslim who is responsible for their own sustenance, provided they have a surplus beyond their and their family's sustenance for the day and night of Eid, equivalent to one sa'. It is given on behalf of the person and those whose maintenance they are responsible for, but it is not obligatory for a fetus. It is to be given from the staple food of the country, such as one sa' of rice. It is not permissible to give it in cash or to purchase items with it.

As for Zakat on wealth, it has a (minimum threshold) and a hawl (one lunar year), and it is not related to . It is permissible to pay it in advance if there is a need. It is not obligatory on cars or residences used for personal purposes.

It is permissible to transfer Zakat (both on wealth and al-Fitr) to another country if there is a need. Zakat al-Fitr becomes obligatory at sunset on the last day of Ramadan and must be given before the Eid prayer. It is permissible to give it two or three days before Eid if there is a need.

It is permissible for a father to bequeath some of his property to one of his children if he has no other children besides you, or with the consent of the other children without coercion.
