What is the authenticity of the story about the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, speaking to the gazelle?
The account of the gazelle speaking to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has been narrated in various forms, including a weak narration in Al-Albani's Silsilah al-Da'ifah (Chain of Weak Narrations), and other narrations of which none are authentic, as mentioned by Al-Albani. Al-Bayhaqi transmitted the hadith of the gazelle, and a group of imams deemed it weak. Abu Nu'aim narrated it with a chain of transmission containing unknown narrators, and Al-Tabarani and Al-Mundhiri narrated similar accounts. Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir stated that it has no basis. However, Al-Hafiz Al-Sakhawi mentioned that several hadiths have been reported on the matter, some of which strengthen others.
