Is it obligatory for a woman who performed Umrah while masturbating, out of ignorance of the obligation of ghusl, to repeat the Umrah?
Fasting: She is not required to make up the days on which she did not masturbate. As for the days on which she masturbated out of ignorance that it was impermissible, the preponderant opinion is that she is not required to make them up.
Prayers: Scholars differ on the obligation to make them up. The more cautious approach is for her to make them up, in agreement with the majority of scholars.
Umrah: If the woman performed Umrah while in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), her circumambulation (tawaf) is invalid because ritual purity is a condition for its validity. If she subsequently performed a valid Umrah, it takes the place of the Umrah whose tawaf was invalid. Otherwise, she remains in a state of ihram, and she must go to Makkah to complete her rituals. If she is unable to do so, she falls under the ruling of one who is prevented from completing their pilgrimage.
She is not required to inform her family of the reason for this, and she may use allusive language.
