Is it permissible to hang a wall clock of a specific design, upon which Ayat al-Kursi is written, surrounded by the repeated لفظ الجلالة "Allah", such that the lower parts of the letters of the glorious name point towards the ground? And is one sinful for breaking with a hammer this tablet upon which Quranic verses and names of Allah are written, in order to avoid their desecration after it was broken, knowing that he did so out of necessity to pulverize the letters?

Writing Quranic verses and the names of Allah Almighty for decoration and ornamentation in the form of a clock is impermissible, as it involves using the Book of Allah and His names for a purpose other than that for which they were revealed, in addition to the possibility of them being exposed to disrespect by falling. As for disintegrating the remaining parts of the clock so that no Quranic letters or names of Allah are visible, this is a correct and permissible action.
