Is it permissible to suffice with washing away blood from hemorrhoids with water if traces of it remain, or must the underwear be changed?

If the bloodstain is minor and excusable, it is not necessary to wash it, and prayer is valid with it. The minor amount is estimated by the Hanafis and Malikis as the area of a dirham, and by the Hanbalis and Shafi'is as what is customarily recognized. However, if the stain is more than the excusable amount, wiping it is not sufficient; rather, it must be washed until the color of the blood is removed, unless its removal is difficult. Prayer in the purified garment is valid.
