What is the merit of humility and what are its types?

Humility is a great blessing, and its foundation lies in knowing Allah and recognizing one's own self and its flaws. This leads to a broken heart before Allah and lowering the wing of humility and mercy towards people. Among the fruits of humility is the elevation of the servant in this world and the hereafter.

Humility is manifested in obeying Allah's commands and refraining from His prohibitions, in humbling oneself before the greatness and majesty of the Lord, in one's dress and gait, and with others such as one's spouse, children, and servants, by helping them and treating them kindly.
