What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a woman marrying a man who abuses her with insults and beatings, and has divorced her twice with an explicit divorce, a third time via an electronic message, and a fourth time which he denied despite the testimony of her family?

If a husband and wife disagree about a divorce, the husband's word is to be taken, unless the wife is certain that she heard him pronounce the triple divorce. In that case, she cannot remain with him and must seek to redeem herself from him. If a husband divorces his wife twice, and two just men from her family inform her that he pronounced the third divorce, she is not permitted to remain with him and must seek to redeem herself from him. However, if women, or one man and women, inform her of this, she is not permitted to refuse her husband. If a woman claims that her husband divorced her and the husband denies it, his word is to be taken, unless she has the testimony of two just witnesses to the divorce. If the husband writes "You are divorced" and intends divorce by it, then the divorce occurs; otherwise, there is a difference of opinion. If the husband abuses his wife with insults, curses, and beating, she has the right to refer his case to the judge and seek a divorce from him. It is advisable to present the matter to the Sharia court or to trusted scholars.
