To what extent is the statement true that a woman's adornment brings a curse upon her, and does this include widening and lengthening sleeves? What is the ruling on wearing silk?

Al-Dhahabi states that among the actions for which a woman is cursed are: displaying adornments, gold, and pearls from beneath her niqab; perfuming herself when going out; wearing elaborate jewelry, buttons, and silk; and wearing short 'aqbiyah (outer garments worn over other clothes) with long dresses and wide sleeves. All of this is considered tabarruj (displaying one's adornments) for which Allah is displeased. Al-Dhahabi also criticizes those who widen and lengthen their sleeves such that the sleeve slips back and exposes what is beneath it, because this is also tabarruj and an exhibition of adornment that is forbidden by the Almighty’s saying: "and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent." As for wearing silk or colored clothes if they are beneath a hijab that is not itself an adornment, there is no harm in that.
