How sound is the belief in what is called "the Tenth Planet" or "the Planet of Torment," which was expected to approach on 15/5/2003 and cause destruction, and was it mentioned in Surat At-Tariq of the Holy Quran?

In the face of such news, a Muslim must be certain of three matters:

1. The end of this worldly life will only occur according to what is stated in the Qur'an and Sunnah, before the appearance of the major and minor signs of the Hour, the struggle of the people of Islam with their enemies, the descent of Jesus and his fight against the Dajjal, then the Muslims ruling the Earth, the souls of the believers being taken, and the Hour commencing upon the worst of creation. Indeed, faith is the reason for life's continuation. 2. It is impermissible to believe that planets bestow benefit or ward off harm, or bring sustenance, happiness, or misery. This is a polytheistic belief, like the belief of the people of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance). Planets are celestial bodies subservient to Allah's power, and their effect occurs by Allah's decree. They are signs by which Allah frightens His servants, and disasters and earthquakes occur after eclipses. The understanding of the relationship between the movement of planets and the sun with the Earth must be based on scientific foundations, and Islam commands the discovery of the laws of the universe. 3. It is not permissible for a Muslim to apply the hadiths that mention end-of-time events to the statements of natural scientists and astronomers. Their statements might be mere speculation or incorrect predictions. It is impermissible to assert definitively that the demise of America or the appearance of the Mahdi will occur with the passage of a specific planet. This is speaking without knowledge, and the unseen is known only to Allah. We must strive against our enemies with whatever strength we possess, relying on Allah, and we must adhere to religious constants and seek refuge in Allah through supplication.
