What should the wife do regarding the zakat on the gold she owns, as she intends to give a portion of its price as zakat, another portion as the price of items whose source she suspects, and the remainder for the sake of Allah, especially after her husband became angry and said that there is no zakat on worn gold and that there is no suspicion regarding the source of the gifts they possess?

A woman is permitted to dispose of her own wealth without her husband's permission. Her husband should not be upset by this, especially if she spends her money on acts of devotion.

Regarding the zakat on jewelry, the fatwa we follow is that zakat is not obligatory on it, but it is more cautious to give it. The husband has no right to object if the wife wishes to pay zakat on her jewelry.

As for the questioner's statement, "I will give out a part...", etc., she is not obliged to give it out unless she has made a vow to do so.

We advise the questioner to obey her husband and seek his pleasure, and to avoid anything that angers him. She should also not harbor ill suspicions about the source of his livelihood, as the default assumption for a Muslim is integrity.
