Is it considered a sin or an offense for a wife not to go for Hajj when she is caring for her disabled husband?

Scholars differed regarding the obligation of a wife to serve her husband. The majority opinion is that it is not obligatory, while some made it obligatory in all matters. Others elaborated, making indoor domestic service obligatory for her, such as kneading and cooking, which is what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ruled between Ali and Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with them both.

If the husband is incapacitated and there is no one to care for him except the wife, then it becomes obligatory for her to serve him, because abandoning him would lead to his ruin. In this case, saving a Muslim takes precedence over Hajj. However, if there are others to care for him, such as children or servants, then she must perform the obligatory Hajj immediately.
