Is it obligatory to continuously perform Qunut in the Maghrib and Fajr prayers until Allah removes the affliction, and what is the ruling on my prayer, and should I repeat it if I performed Qunut then stopped doing so continuously?

Qunut is only legislated when a general calamity (nazila) befalls Muslims, and it is not legislated for a matter specific to the worshiper. If a calamity befalls Muslims, it is recommended to perform Qunut in the five prayers, and it is more emphasized in the Fajr and Maghrib prayers. There is a difference of opinion regarding Qunut for someone praying alone, and the most correct view is that it is recommended for him. If the legitimate reason for Qunut exists, then it is permissible to perform it or to omit it. If the worshiper performs Qunut where it is permissible, he has done well and is not required to continue it. However, if he performs Qunut where it is not legislated, he should not repeat that, and he should strive to supplicate for his private needs in the places of supplication within the prayer. He is not required to repeat the prayer, because that does not invalidate the prayer.
