What is the meaning of "كيلوا طعامكم يبارك لكم فيه" (weigh your food, and you will be blessed in it), and how do we apply it? Does it contradict the prohibition of counting and enumerating food?

The hadith, "Measure your food, it will be blessed for you," is understood as a way of estimating and managing expenditure on one's family, to avoid extravagance and deficiency, and to achieve economy. It does not contradict the hadith, "Do not hoard, lest it be hoarded from you," which encourages charity and generosity, nor does it contradict the story of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) regarding the measuring of barley, which was either a special blessing or due to her observing the customary practice.
