What is the story of our master Shuʿayb?

The story of Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) is mentioned in several surahs of the Qur'an. Allah sent him to the people of Midian, who worshipped the Aykah (a thicket of trees) and defrauded in weights and measures. He called them to worship Allah and abandon their reprehensible acts. A few of them believed, while many disbelieved. So, Allah brought down punishment upon the disbelievers and saved the believers.
