Usury is absolutely forbidden in Islamic Sharia by the Quran, Sunnah, and scholarly consensus; it is one of the major sins. Allah has permitted trade and forbidden usury, and He has cursed its devourer and its enabler. It is mentioned in the noble Hadith that the devourer of usury is among the seven destructive sins.
