Do sins extend to the sinner's family, or are they confined to the individual alone?

The fundamental principle in Islamic law is that every soul is responsible for its own sins, as Allah Almighty said: "And every soul earns not [consequences] except upon itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, emphasized this principle in his Farewell Pilgrimage, saying: "Behold, no one commits a crime but against himself; a father does not commit a crime against his son, nor a son against his father."
