Among the conditions for the validity of prayer is covering the 'awrah (private parts). The 'awrah of a man is what is between the navel and the knee, according to the majority of jurists. If the clothing covers the 'awrah and is not transparent, then the prayer is valid, even if the trousers are wide and concealing, or if any holes are covered by a shirt. It is desirable for the worshipper to wear their best clothes, and prayer should not be singled out for the worst clothes.
