Is a wife considered to be denying what is known to be an essential tenet of the religion if she tells her husband, "You are not responsible for me before Allah," despite her knowledge of his responsibility for her? And is her prayer valid if her clothes describe her body during bowing and prostration? And how should the husband deal with her?

"Giving advice, teaching the ignorant, and enjoining good and forbidding evil are sanctioned by religious proofs. The statement 'you are not responsible for me on the Day of Judgment' is incorrect when receiving advice, for advice is part of religion. Nevertheless, a wife should be advised gently. A wife's prayer in non-tight clothing does not warrant objection, but if it becomes tight during bowing (rukūʿ) or prostration (sujūd), the prayer is severely disliked (makrūh karāhatan shadīdah) but not invalidated, as long as it covers the 'awrah and describes the body's shape without revealing skin color. The advice must be given gently and respectfully."
