What is the wisdom behind a funeral prayer having no bowing or prostration, and what are the situations in which it is not permissible to raise one's hands in supplication?

The fundamental principle of worship is perfect devotion to Allah through submission, surrender, obedience, and emulation. Scholars may mention certain wisdoms and rationales for the form of worships. Regarding the funeral prayer (Salat al-Janazah), Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen mentioned that the reason for the absence of an opening supplication (istiftah) is that it is based on leniency. Therefore, it does not include bowing (ruku'), prostration (sujud), or lengthy recitation beyond Al-Fatihah. In fact, according to some scholars, there may be no recitation at all, nor is there a tashahhud.
