Does not being affected or weeping when supplicating and seeking forgiveness indicate Allah's wrath, and is weeping a prerequisite for the forgiveness of sins?

The lack of devotion (khushu') and weeping during supplication may be attributed to hardness of heart, which results from sins and transgressions. Ibn al-Qayyim said: "Good deeds increase the light of the heart, while evil deeds extinguish the light of the heart." To remedy hardness of heart, it is recommended to show kindness to orphans, as guided by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Weeping is not obligatory when making supplication or seeking forgiveness, and the forgiveness of sins is a matter of the unseen. Feeling no remorse when seeking forgiveness indicates an incomplete repentance. The causes of Allah's wrath are committing sins and neglecting duties.
