Which of the two types of weeping is more beloved to Allah: the weeping of sinful penitents who find pain and bitterness in it, or the weeping of obedient worshipers who find pleasure and sweetness in it?

The weeping of repentant sinners is more beloved to Allah in the state of repentance and turning to Him, and the weeping of obedient and humble worshippers is more beloved to Allah in the state of submission and humility. Each type of weeping has its own مقام (station/context), and all of them are virtuous and beloved. The state of repentance and regret is among the most sublime stations, as indicated by the Hadith: "Allah rejoices more over the repentance of His believing servant." And the state of worship and submission is also among the most sublime stations, as stated in the Hadith Qudsi: "My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have enjoined upon him." Both the repentant and the humble worshipper feel fear and hope from Allah; they are two intertwined stations. The life of the heart is like the life of the body, so each station has its appropriate time. When the worshipper remembers his sins, the weeping of fear is better, and when he remembers good期望 (good expectations) of Allah and the sweetness of worship, the weeping of hope is better. The believing servant walks between fear and hope.
