What is the reason for the Children of Israel's return to Jerusalem after being expelled from it twice, and does the verse "And if you return, We will return" apply to them? And what is the town mentioned in "And it is forbidden for a town which We have destroyed that they will not return," and what is its relation to Gog and Magog and the Children of Israel?

Allah informed us in the verses of Al-Isra' that the Children of Israel would cause corruption on earth twice and become mighty therein. This happened twice, and each time Allah sent against them those who would humiliate and subjugate them. As for the verse in Al-Anbiya': "And it is forbidden for a town which We have destroyed that they will not return," it is not specific to the Jews. Rather, it refers to a town that has already been destroyed, or one that does not repent. As for the Muslims' fighting against the Jews, their victory is a certainty, and it will occur with the emergence of the Dajjal, the descent of 'Isa, and the appearance of the Mahdi, when trees and stones will speak to reveal the Jews. As for His, the Almighty's, saying: "until when Gog and Magog are let loose," this refers to the appearance of the signs of the Hour and the establishment of the Day of Judgment, and it has no connection to contemporary Jews.
