The answer

It has been reported that angels do not enter if a woman is unveiled and not wearing a head covering. Al-Tabarani narrated in Al-Mu'jam Al-Awsat, on the authority of Umm Salamah, on the authority of Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with them both, that she tested the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when Jibril (Gabriel), peace be upon him, came to him. She asked him to sit on her thighs, and each time she would ask him if he saw him. When she removed her head covering and asked him if he saw him, he said, "No." So she said, "By Allah, this is a noble angel, not a devil." However, the establishment of this meaning depends on the authenticity of the hadith.
