Does my not getting the scholarship after helping my friend get it mean that it was not meant for me, or that I was a means for his provision, or that I was not wise in managing my affairs?

The future is in the hands of Allah, and all good or bad that befalls a person is by Allah's decree and preordainment written in the Preserved Tablet, and this faith removes sadness. Wealth is not in the abundance of money, nor is happiness in it; rather, "Wealth is not in the abundance of possessions, but wealth is the richness of the soul." "Indeed, happy is he who is spared from trials, indeed, happy is he who is spared from trials, indeed, happy is he who is spared from trials, and happy is he who is afflicted and endures patiently." So, be patient and content with Allah's decree, for what Allah chooses is better than what you choose for yourself: "And perhaps you dislike a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows while you know not." And "Had Allah extended [unrestricted] provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth. But He sends down [provision] in due measure whatever He wills. Indeed, He is, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing." So, Allah provides what is suitable for His servants. And if deprivation is a trial, then "Indeed, the greatness of the reward is proportional to the greatness of the affliction. And indeed, when Allah loves a people, He afflicts them. So, whoever is content will have contentment, and whoever is displeased will have displeasure."
