What is the solution for a young man who feels despair and resentment towards his life and religion, contemplates suicide, and wonders if what he is experiencing is wrath from Allah?

This world is a place of trial and test. Allah tests His servants therein with good and evil, and nothing befalls a believer except that it is good for him. You are required to strive in supplication (du'a), but the answering of du'a, the distribution of provisions (rizq), giving, and withholding are all up to Allah, for a wisdom. Allah may reserve for His servant, because of his du'a, something that is better for him. So, all you have to do is supplicate abundantly. You mentioned two dangerous matters: The first is your resentment regarding the distribution of provisions, which are whispers that must be repelled. The second is your thinking about suicide, which is a transition from misery to greater misery. Increase in the remembrance of Allah and His gratitude, so that your heart may find peace.
