Why does God perfect His blessing upon His servant by making him abstain from it, not by his need for it?

Yes, God's blessings are abundant in this world for both the righteous and the wicked. The Almighty said: (To each We extend – to these and to those – from the gift of your Lord. And never has the gift of your Lord been restricted) [Al-Isra: 20]. A Muslim is not required to practice asceticism concerning the blessings he needs. Health, wealth, and marriage are all blessings. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not of me," referring to one who abstains from marriage out of asceticism. Wealth is the foundation of life. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "How excellent is righteous wealth for a righteous man." True asceticism is not about being without money, or wearing coarse clothes, or eating dry food; rather, it is about shortening one's hopes, and concerning what exceeds one's needs, not essential necessities. Whoever has abundant superfluous things in his possession but whose heart is not attached to them is an ascetic. And if the heart is free from panic and the hand from aggression, its owner is praiseworthy, even if he possesses great wealth. Whoever acquires money through lawful means and spends it on lawful things will be rewarded, as long as it does not lead to extravagance and luxury.
