Does clothing become pure simply by pouring water on the impurity, or must the water dry for it to become pure?

If a garment soiled with impurity is washed with pure water, and the water separates from it unchanged, then it becomes pure immediately. There is no condition to wring it out or dry it, because the place has become pure by the separation of the pure water from it.
