What is the ruling on watching a series that depicts the life of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him?

The Rafidah produced a series about Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him, in which they distorted the story and portrayed the character of a prophet, which is a reprehensible act. The scholars of the Permanent Committee were asked about the ruling on portraying the Prophets, peace be upon them, and the Companions and their Successors, may Allah be pleased with them, and they replied:

The scenes in dramatizations are mostly characterized by amusement, adornment, and artificiality, and may lead to the distortion of speech. Actors often tend not to seek truthfulness and not to possess Islamic morals, which may lead to mockery and derision of the Companions and diminish their awe. Portraying disbelievers makes the actor utter words of disbelief and insult the Prophets, and he may add things from his own accord that distort the scene, leading to corruption. The claim that acting is a successful means of da'wah (proselytization) is incorrect, as its evil outweighs its good. The means of conveying and inviting to Islam are numerous and fruitful, and the Prophets outlined them for their nations. One should suffice with them instead of acting, which is closer to play and whims.
