What is incumbent upon a committed Muslim in non-Islamic countries where he is compelled to shave his beard, abandon prayer, and openly commit sins? And is his leaving his family and property considered emigration (Hijrah)?

A Muslim must be cautious about residing in a country that promotes or enforces the forbidden, such as abandoning prayer, shaving beards, or committing immoral acts. He must leave such lands, even if it goes against his parents' wishes, because obedience to Allah takes precedence over obedience to parents, which is only valid in what is right and lawful. "There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator." Therefore, any country where a Muslim cannot openly practice his religion, or where he is compelled to commit sins, he must emigrate from.
