Is a daughter considered undutiful to her father who abandoned her and her mother and married another woman, not spending on them, while she sought to communicate with him?

A father has rights and duties towards his children and wife, such as the duty to provide for them, protect them, and marry off his daughters. A father abandoning these responsibilities goes against the teachings of Islam, as he is accountable for his flock, and neglecting them is a grave sin, contrary to human nature. He should be advised and made aware of the seriousness of his actions. However, his shortcomings do not justify disobedience towards him; rather, he must be treated with filial piety and accompanied in kindness.

The father is the guardian of his daughter in marriage. His guardianship does not fall except in specific cases, such as preventing her marriage (adal), or if he is a dissolute person and does not repent from drug abuse. In this case, his guardianship falls due to his lack of rectitude, according to some scholars, and the daughter should refer her case to the judge to marry her off.
