How can I be fair between my first wife and my second wife, knowing that I reside in one country while she resides in another, and that what I spend on her does not exceed the rent of her dwelling, and I am unable to provide her with sufficient time, for fear of being resurrected on the Day of Judgment with one side drooping?

A husband must be just between his two wives in terms of lodging and financial support. If he is unable to do so, he must clarify this to the second wife. If she agrees, then there is no blame upon him. If she does not agree, then divorce is the safest option, along with granting her the rights of a divorced woman. It should be noted that an 'urfi (customary) marriage is valid if it fulfills the legal conditions of marriage. However, if it is without a guardian, it is void. A servant of Allah must repent, observe the obligatory duties, and avoid sins so that Allah may grant him success and ease his affairs.
