What is the ruling on listening to a nasheed that includes the wish that the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, be pleased with its singer and accept him?

A Muslim seeking the pleasure of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, is not polytheism (shirk), because pleasing him is pleasing Allah. It is not necessary for the Messenger to be aware of one's efforts in this regard. Poetry, by its nature, exagger exaggerates meanings and should not be judged by literal scrutiny unless its apparent meaning contradicts Islamic law. The phrase "Will you not accept me?" can be interpreted as seeking the Messenger's approval, and the saying "Intercede for us, O beloved of Allah" can be interpreted as hoping for his intercession in the Afterlife, which has no impediment. There is no harm in listening to this poem as long as it does not contain clear and manifest violations of Islamic law. Indeed, it is permissible to listen to poems that contain some violations for those who possess discernment and are secure from being affected by them.
