What is the ruling on a man installing prosthetic devices in his reproductive organ?

If the use of medical devices does not result in harm, then there is no objection to implanting a device in a person with a severed penis to urinate with, by analogy with the permissibility of installing a nose of gold for Arfajah ibn Sa'd, and the scholars' inference from this that it is permissible to install teeth and the like out of necessity.
