Is obedience to a mother obligatory who prevents her children from maintaining ties with their stepmother, and is disobeying her considered an act of disobedience to parents (ʿuqūq)?

Obeying and honoring one's parents are obligatory, and Islam has particularly emphasized honoring the mother. However, this obedience is restricted to what is good and permissible. Therefore, a mother does not have the right to prevent her daughter from engaging in dawah (inviting others to Islam). The most deserving of those to whom she should extend dawah are her relatives and her father's wife. It is important to consider the mother's feelings and minimize showing closeness to the father's wife to avoid the mother's anger, while also trying to convince the mother that you are one family.
