The qualities that a righteous wife should possess are: piety towards Allah in secret and in public, by guarding her tongue, limbs, and heart from what Allah has forbidden. She must also avoid unlawful acts and violations of Islamic law in wedding celebrations. Among her qualities is also obedience to her husband in matters that do not contradict Islamic law, and preserving his honor in herself and his property in his presence and absence, as indicated by the verses and hadiths. As for the qualities that should be present in a husband, they are religiosity and good character, and this can be confirmed by asking those close to him.
