Is it permissible for a woman to dye her hair white?

Scholars have explicitly stated the disfavorability of dyeing hair white if the intention is to hasten old age for leadership, reverence, or similar purposes. However, they permit it if there is a valid reason. The prohibition is for corrupt intentions, and permissibility is for a sound purpose, as understood from the words of Al-Nawawi, Al-Adawi, and the Fiqh Encyclopedia. Ibn Baz found the desire for graying hair unusual but permitted it as long as it wasn't black. The Permanent Committee and Ibn Uthaymeen generally allowed dyeing hair with colors other than black.
