What is the interval between the three trumpet blasts before the Day of Judgment, and does a single blast take a long time?

It is authentically reported in Al-Bukhari and Muslim, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Between the two blasts there are forty." Abu Hurairah did not specify whether it was forty years, months, or days. Ibn Hajar mentioned the invalidity of specifying the duration through weak narrations. Al-Nawawi, Al-Baghawi, Al-Tabari, Al-Qurtubi, Al-Shawkani, Al-Alusi, and Ibn Al-Jawzi inclined to the opinion that it is forty years. There is no text that specifies the duration of the blowing itself.
