What is the ruling on a husband traveling with a male and female colleague for six hours weekly for study, and is his wife’s objection to that considered overcomplicating matters, especially since he refuses for her to do the same?

The travel of a colleague of the husband without a mahram is forbidden by Islamic law, as it is authentically reported in Al-Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "A woman should not travel except with a mahram." The repeated travel of a woman with two specific men may diminish decorum and lead to falling into fitna (temptation/strife). It is obligatory to block the means (to evil) and to distance oneself from the causes of fitna, especially in an era where corruption has become widespread. Abu al-Abbas al-Qurtubi emphasized the importance of blocking the means in this matter, to the extent that Malik forbade a woman from being in seclusion with her husband's son or traveling with him, because souls differ, and the religious prohibition alone is not always sufficient without considering the current means (to evil) and avoiding suspicion.
