Is a father considered a martyr if he was killed by an unknown sniper, knowing that he had performed Hajj to the Sacred House of God, died on the eve of Friday, and never acquired any unlawful wealth? And what is the virtue of dying on this day?

The report about dying on Friday has varying degrees of authenticity. The Hadith: "No Muslim dies on Friday or on the night of Friday except that Allah protects him from the trial of the grave," was narrated by Al-Tirmidhi with a weak chain of transmission. However, Al-Albani graded it as hasan (good) due to its various chains of narration. If the Hadith is authentic, then it indicates a virtue for whoever dies at this time. As for dying during the day on Thursday, nothing has been reported concerning it.

Merely being killed by an unknown sniper's bullet is not sufficient to consider the slain person a martyr. However, it is established that whoever is killed in defense of his religion, honor, self, or property is a martyr.
