The answer

The rule for compensating an employee for their travel expenses is what is stipulated in their contract or the law governing their work. It is not permissible for them to use deception to receive compensation outside of that, as it involves consuming people's wealth unlawfully, based on the Almighty's saying: "And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly." Therefore, it is not permissible for an employee to receive compensation for their travel after their legal period has expired, through deception; because that involves violating the terms of the employer stipulated in their law, and the terms of the employer must be fulfilled unless they contradict Islamic law, based on the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts." If traveling outside the city without compensation is not among the job duties that the employee contracted for, then they are not obligated to perform it and have the right to refuse it.
