Does God forgive one who has committed sodomy and repented, and is there any expiation upon him?

The mercy of Allah is vast, and the door to repentance is open. Allah forgives all sins if the servant is sincere in his repentance and fulfills its conditions: abandoning the sin and shunning its causes, feeling remorse, and having a sincere resolve not to return to it. No expiation is required of him, and it is recommended for him to increase in acts of obedience (prayer, fasting, charity) because "indeed, good deeds do away with ill deeds."
