Is it permissible for the husband to divorce his wife who argues and talks back to him, claims to know everything, deals selfishly with his parents, and has lied to him in trivial situations, especially since the idea of separation frequently crosses their minds?

Divorce is permissible when there is a need for it, due to a wife's bad character or poor companionship. However, it should not be resorted to except after all means of reconciliation have failed. It is advisable to be patient with the wife, strive to reform her, and not focus solely on her negative aspects while ignoring her good ones, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A believing man should not hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another."
